They only want a very specific slice of light. If you’re just throwing generic UV at your product, you’re wasting energy and probably overheating your materials. That’s why we do things differently. The “Tacky Core” Problem
We’ve all seen it. You pull a part off the line, the surface feels dry, but the inside is still like jam. That happens because your lamp and your resin aren’t speaking the same language. If your resin wants 365nm but your lamp is peaking at 395nm, you’re just guessing. We fix this by matching the lamp’s output to the absorption curve of your specific photoinitiator. We tweak the gas mixtures and the quartz in the bulbs to tighten that peak. It’s the difference between a floodlight and a laser. And because the system is modular, you can play around with the length and power density. Need it faster? Crank up the wattage to get more irradiance (mW/cm²). But a word of caution: more power means more heat. If your cooling fans or water jackets can’t keep up, the lamp gets too hot and the wavelength starts to drift. It’s a balancing act.
